GIMP 2.8 has a schedule, mostly

Martin Nordholts has published a tentative (and very fluid) schedule for GIMP 2.8.  The schedule currently calls for the first 2.8 release candidate on April 2, 2011.  Some of the items of interest that are under development for 2.8 include

Resource tagging – allowing searches for brushes, for example, by tags similar to social networking tags
