GIMP Gallery updated

I posted a new section to the GIMP Gallery to display the artwork I've been doing for Linux Format magazine. linux format is a glossy print publication from Future Publishing targeted and end users and is published in the UK. Note that their web site doesn't do their publication justice, IMHO. I've been writing a column for them for about a year and a half now.

The artwork on display is a mixture of some interesting images created for tutorials I've written along with a series of splash images. The splash images are used on the opening page of the column. They don't always reflect exactly what the column is about since the splash image can be reused in multiple issues.

Anyway, all that work was paid work and shows, I think, a little evolution of my artistic abilities. My favorite is the latest image, lxf-splash-6b, because it is probably the most complex I've done. The only artwork not done directly in gimp are the two people, which were taken from a royalty free clip art collection. This one hasn't been published yet so it will be interesting to see how good the print is. Since GIMP doesn't have CMYK output and out of gamut checks I can't tell if the image will be distorted very much. Fortunately linux Format has a good layout person. Thanks for making all those images look good Julian!

One note on the gallery: I used some images from pdphoto.org in my last article. One of these (so far, I noticed I forgot to put a couple more images in this section now that I look it over) is reprinted in the gallery unmodified: lxf63-rose-1 (which is the before picture; lxf63-rose-2 is the image after processing). I thought I should give credit where credit is due. There may be a couple more added later.
