This year the original dickens village changed very little. My wife encouraged me to purchase another lighted building and offered the space on the opposite side of the fireplace from the old village (where she had previously set up one of her villages). So I purchased Scrooge & Marley Counting House along with three small accessories. When we set up the new display it looked extremely sparse. While shopping in Denver I ran across a sale on the Wellbourn Bros. Lanterns lighted house. This is typically a $90 item but was on sale for $55 – hard to pass up. So the new display is launched with two houses and a few accessories. Nothing compared to the old display, but it gives me something to look forward to for the next 5 years as I accumulate more pieces each holiday season.
