Installation archives for PiBox for Raspberry 2 and 3

These are the pre-installed CD images. To use these you need an SD card that is at 8GB or larger.

Installation instructions

• Find the device associated with your SD card. WARNING: make sure you have the correct device name as installation tools will wipe the contents of the device you select!
• Use the following command to copy an image to the device.

  sudo dd if=image_file of=device_name bs=4M status=progress

  The image_file is the name of one files found in this directory. The device_name will likely be something like /dev/sda or /dev/sdg. Be very careful here - if you get the device name wrong you can wipe your system clean!
• Once the dd command completes the SD card can be inserted into the Raspberry Pi and booted. The first boot will do some initial setup and then reboot automatically once more. PiBox is ready to use when the UI is displayed.
• The devplatform image is ready to use at this point. The other images require installation of the OPKG files.
  • cd /media/mmcblk0p3/opkg/pkg
  • opkg install *.opk
  • reboot

The system is now ready to use.

For the media system, see the rpi2/desktop application VideoLib to generate databases that can be used by the VideoFE application.
