PiBox 2.0.0
PiBox is released in the following format.
- Installation files for those who wish to customize a system before installating to an SD card.
Pre-installed SD card images are not available due to bandwidth limits on this server.
Source code, for those who which to fully customize the development platform, is available from the GitLab repositories.
Additionally, there are 6 system types for PiBox.
- PiBox Development System
- PiBox Media System
- PiBox Kiosk System
- PiBox Auto-Kiosk System
- PiBox PiSentry System
- PiBox PiStore System
And finally, PiBox is built for two types of hardware.
- RPi1 is for B, B+, Zero and Zero W devices.
- RPi2 is for 2 and 3 devices.
Why two different hardware types? The RPi1 devices are slower so to squeeze as much as possible from them the toolchain used to compile for those platforms is customized specifically for them. The same is true for the RPI2 devices. While it is possible to use a single toolchain for all devices, this doesn't realize the power of the PiBox build system which is intended to make it possible to customize for specific hardware.
