I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve spent the past couple of weeks upgrading all my systems at home.\u00c2\u00a0 My firewall is finally updated to a recent Linux distribution and I built a new staging\/build server with lots of horsepower and disk space.\u00c2\u00a0 I then migrated all the data from multiple machines onto the one staging server.\u00c2\u00a0 I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m still migrating, but most of the important stuff is now done.\u00c2\u00a0 You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll notice that the graphics-muse.org web site was also updated in the process.\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s now all centered on the new version of WordPress you see here.<\/p>\n
Migration is always a pain.\u00c2\u00a0 Things don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t work out of the box no matter how well you plan for them.\u00c2\u00a0 Fortunately, most of this migration happened without a hitch.\u00c2\u00a0 The only real problem was migrating my old Evolution 1.4 files to a new server and importing them to the latest version of Evolution.\u00c2\u00a0 I finally found out how to do that.\u00c2\u00a0 For posterity sake, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m going to make note of that process in my next blog posting.<\/p>\n
With the systems upgraded my colo server is now ready to be upgraded.\u00c2\u00a0 It will get new hardware too, plus a recent version of CentOS.<\/p>\n
All this should keep me happy and without major sysadmin work for the next 3 years or so.\u00c2\u00a0 Then we get to do it all over again.\u00c2\u00a0 *sigh*<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
