The terms of service apparently changed for imdb.com and the original imdb.pl script in mythtv that is used to retrieve data about movies (via the video Manager) is no longer working properly.  The results vary but in my case the director information was not be pulled properly.  There is a new script that will be going into the next release of MythTV.  However, until then, you can install the script manually.  It works quite well using a different service.

The new script is called tmdb.pl and it utilizes data from themoviedb.org.  I followed the instructions on the mythtv wiki for tmdb.pl on a backend server and a frontend client tonight after having updated the backend to fedora 11.  The wiki instructions work perfectly.  I highly recommend this transition for MythTV users.
