Open CourseWare Consortium: diverse education, FOSS-style

This is pretty cool.  I just saw on Slashdot about MIT's Introduction to Copyright Law course, which is free and part of the Open CourseWare Consortium.  This is an interesting idea, offering college level courses for free over the Internet.  What's even more inviting is that universities like MIT, Notre Dame, UC Irvine and Utah State are participating.  These aren't community colleges – they're tier one schools.

I looked over MIT's range of topics and they seem to have the most offerings, at least for US schools (I haven't checked non-US schools yet).  There is a class in computer graphics I may look into.  Or maybe one on the Solar System.  Not that I have the time right now, but it's something I should take the time to do.  After all, how often do you get to take a course in something you love for free offered by some of the best in the business?
