I’m taking some of those self-study courses at MIT, including the Introduction to Copyright Law and Computer Graphics. I was going to take the Circuits and Electronics course but a recent Slashdot inquiry got me pointed to some other useful material I may read through first. I have the links in an email, but it’s not easy to find there so I’m moving them here to my blog so I can find them later, while I’m doing my studies.
- Anything by Forrest Mims seems to be inexpensive and good learning material (start with Getting Started in Electronics)
- The Art of Electronics – the bible for Electronic Engineers
- Datasheets for standard logic IC’s (4000 series and 74 series)
- Lots of suppliers and circuits
- Makezine (already knew about this one)
- AllAboutElectronics Online textbook – Looks to be a great place to start if you’re new to electronics; it also has a Forum.
- Adafruit.com – Everything a maker needs plus loads of tutorials.
- Sparkfun.com – Even more a maker might need, plus loads of tutorials.
Contributes from readers:
- Making Electric Circuits and Other Electronics Projects – from C. Weaver.
