The via_v4l_drv.o module is available and the init.sh script should be loading it, but apparently it didn't get loaded – maybe the load order is wrong. Anyway, once that module is loaded then /dev/video2, which makes me think mythtv will be happier and possibly run now.
I think I just need to find out why this module is not loading.
